ipadio can be used to stream live audio - from either a phone or a computer. At its most basic, it's simply a case of making a phone call - when you call ipadio it will be broadcast live on to the web. By using a Voice-Over IP (VOIP) application on either a smartphone or computer, it is even possible to stream in high quality "HD" streaming. As good as your own radio station but at a fraction of the cost.

The stream can then be listened to by users on your website in an embedded player - as well as pushed out to Twitter, Facebook, blogs, and so on.

Case Study: AHS Conference 2011

The AHS is an umbrella body representing many different student societies. Whilst the venue could only hold a few hundred people, many more were able to listen via the internet live, in real time - in HD.

Case Study: Vision UK 2020

The Vision UK 2010 Conference was a major conference in the visual impairment sector. We were able to broadcast live to the Vision UK 2010 website to a special screen-reader accessible audio player, which included audio cues when broadcasts started and ended. The audio from the conference was then instantly made available afterwards for listening back.

Case Study: RS Components

RS, the industrial components group last year held an internal “Face2Face” series of events in which directors of the company presented to and met with employees as part of their commitment to employee engagement. Four events were held, and ipadio was used to broadcast them live over the internal RS intranet – enabling employees not able to attend to listen in, or listen back later to what they missed. In addition to a live stream, ipadio uploaded podcasts of each individual segment, which allowed employees to only have to listen to parts relevant to them.
